IPI supports Boldbrain Startup Challenge in Ticino

The Boldbrain Startup Challenge, Ticino’s accelerator for innovative business ideas, has announced the 20 teams participating in the fifth edition of the programme. A total of 128 applications were submitted, confirming the trend of previous years. The IPI is a co-sponsor and is offering all finalists a voucher for an Assisted Patent Search.

A total of 128 applications were registered for this year’s edition of the Boldbrain Startup Challenge, of which 67 were eligible based on the admission rules. The selection committee, composed of experts from different backgrounds, carefully examined all valid applications. The selection criteria included the value and scalability of the idea, the degree of innovation, the business model, the quality of the team, and the team’s willingness to develop its business in Ticino. Only ten teams will reach the final awards ceremony scheduled for 13 December at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.

The projects presented recently by the teams belong to different innovative industry sectors, including Fintech, ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) and Biotech/Medtech. Among the selected startups, seven have a prototype, three are already on the market, and six are incorporated companies.
