Swiss Biotech Report 2018: The Swiss biotech industry continues to soar due to “world class patents”
The success of the Swiss biotech industry continues. In 2017, the success of recent years could be consolidated and even somewhat surpassed, as the latest statistics in the Swiss Biotech Report show. The report features the most important drivers of innovation and summarises issues and facts about the development of the Swiss biotech industry. The Swiss Biotech Report is compiled annually by a committee of representatives from public institutions - including the IPI - and local companies. In this report, authors from the IPI give specific emphasis to the quality of the patents, with half of Swiss biotech patents qualifying as “world class patents” with particularly high value creation potential.
