The ‘Swiss’ brand is adequately protected
Studies commissioned by the Federal Council confirm that the legal criteria for the long-term protection of ‘Swissness’ are fulfilling their purpose. They are adding value to the Swiss economy and are leading to a decrease in cases of ‘Swissness’ misuse, particularly within Switzerland. In its report, which was approved on 18 December 2020, the Federal Council sees potential for action in enforcement abroad and in dealing with the exceptions for foodstuffs.
