Due to maintenance work on the IT infrastructure, there will be an interruption to the IPI’s operations starting 5:30 pm on Friday, 14 November 2025 until 12 pm on Sunday, 16 November 2025.

 

Interruptions to our website www.ipi.ch as well as to various IPI applications such as e-trademark.ige.ch and the online services are also possible during this time. Therefore, it is not possible to guarantee that legally valid submissions can be made online during this time.

     
 
 

The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property

Individuals and companies register their innovations and creations with the Swiss Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) in order to protect them from being copied: inventions are patented, names registered as logos or trade marks and shapes as designs. The IPI maintains the public register for the management of IP rights and informs the general public about the possibilities of protecting intellectual property.
