Official Holidays

The Institute is closed on the following official holidays: January 1 and 2, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, August 1 and December 25 and 26.

Arriving via public transportation:

  • From the Bern main train station: take Bus 20 in the direction of Wankdorf Bahnhof. Get off at the Breitfeld stop (approx. 7 min.). From there (approx. 8 min.), head east and look for the sign indicating the direction to the Business Park Bern/Institute at the corner of Stauffacherstrasse and Standstrasse.
  • Using the S-train from any direction: descend at S-train station Bern Wankdorf. From the Stauffacherstrasse side, head west (towards the city) and walk approx. 12 min. to the Institute. Or, take the RBS-Bus 36 (stop is at the S-train station) as far as the bus stop Stauffacherbrücke (directly in front of the Business Park Bern entrance).
  • The Institute is located at the rear of the business park in red building, number 59g (see map above). Follow the signs ("Eidg. Institut für Geistiges Eigentum") leading from the map of the park posted directly at the main entrance visitor parking.

Arriving by automobile:

  • The visitor parking area is next to the main entrance of the Business Park Bern.
  • The handicapped parking spot is located in front of the Institute's main entrance (GPS coordinates: Nord 46°57.970; East 7°27.300)
