Declaration of consent for the use of AI tools
For the commercial services offered under the label ip-search, the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) uses various search tools that employ artificial intelligence (AI) to search for characteristics and evaluate documents. This improves the quality and efficiency of the searches.
When these browser-based AI tools are used, the input data for the search query leaves the IPI and Switzerland. Even where we have concluded agreements with the providers of the AI tools listed below regarding data protection, security and confidentiality, there is always a risk that the input data could be intercepted and misused.
This currently relates to the following AI tools:
IPRally (www.iprally.com)
Octimine (ww.dennemeyer.com)
Origin (minesoft.com)
Ambercite AI (www.ambercite.com)
However, if we use freely accessible AI tools without concluding specific agreements with their providers, the provisions of the respective providers apply without any reservations, and we do not guarantee any protection of the input data.
This relates in particular to:
Perplexity (www.perplexity.ai)
Further information on the individual AI tools we use and the measures we have taken can be found in our privacy policy (section 7).
By giving your consent, you acknowledge the risks involved in disclosing sensitive data and information to third parties and release the IPI from all liability.
If you do not wish such data to be entered, the obvious and already published state of the art can be used as an alternative for searches in AI tools. Paraphrases can also be used that do not allow any clear conclusions to be drawn about the exact object of the search. As a result, the search will be more time-intensive.
This declaration of consent forms an integral part of your search order. Furthermore, the general terms and conditions and the IPI’s privacy policy apply.
