Billing of database costs for the European Patent Office's search system

01.07.2014 | ip-search

The European Patent Office has changed its billing procedures for charging for the cost of using its search system through national patent offices. This means that as of 1.7.2014, these charges will also be adjusted accordingly for our customers. As of this date, we will charge our customers for the number of database transactions instead of the time spent using the search system as previously. This value represents the complexity and the scope of the search queries as well as the number of documents reviewed.

The price for one transaction will amount to Fr. 0.40 for a minimum amount of Fr. 50 per search order. This will also include the delivery of up to 100 database citations.
